About me – my name is Philip Kebbell and I thought it only fair to tell you who I am and about my story so far, so as to give you an idea where I’ve come from and where I’m going with my internet marketing business, and hopefully you can relate to some of my experience.

Pretty much most of my career I’ve been involved in electronics servicing in one form or another, moving on towards IT or computer hardware repair and servicing, but I have also enjoyed being a keyboard player and teaching music technology i.e. teaching people how to record their own music and setting up their own home recording studios. Unfortunately this is only part time while the IT repair stuff has been my main occupation. Realizing that this industry is slowly dying due to new equipment prices constantly falling I decided back in 2007 to move over to the software side of things and take a web design course as I’d always been curious in how web pages were put together.

During this period I studied all about HTML and CSS and all that techie coding stuff and managed to get through the exams hoping to get a job as a junior designer, but I discovered 2 things. Firstly already back then, the economic slow down had started and jobs were becoming scarce and secondly when there were jobs available, they required heavy duty programming skills, which would mean I would have to take a year or so more to learn them probably by which time there would be even more skills required, so I felt like I was chasing my own tail.

One thing I did notice, while job hunting, were various adverts for ‘work at home’ businesses and some of these involved being on the internet and this sparked a light bulb in my head and I thought “hey wouldn’t it be really great to be able to work at home without having to travel to some office or workshop, and still get some kind of income?” Maybe you’ve either felt or feel like that right now! So off I went typing into Google stuff like “Earn a Living Online”, and you can imagine the millions of results I got and I was totally bewildered as to which way to turn.

So I checked out loads of “offers” within the first few results pages and bought into my first “job eliminator” program, or at least so I thought. You know it was one of those instant push button – we build your site for you kind of packages – very little training, just enough to teach you how to manage the site itself, but I thought “hey, this is really easy – just set up a few “must buy/ hot selling” products on this site and the customers will come flooding in with their cash”. A few days later, not a single visitor, no cash, absolute zilch, so what do I do now? Simple I thought, all I have to do is to find out how to market on the internet, apply those ideas to this site of mine and the cash would come in after all. But what it proved was how naive I was as at that point I had not discovered the world of the scam marketers, full of hype and bull, promising the earth and delivering nothing, all those “convert your computer into an ATM, or those so called Gurus with videos of themselves going into their mansion driveways in a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

By now I was sick and tired of the whole thing and I found myself a job and got back to “normal” life or existence if you could call it that. Riding on my motorbike around 100 miles a day through all the wind, rain and cold winter weather just to earn a crust. However all the time in the back of my mind, that little glowing light just wouldn’t go out and was niggling/ burning away and in the fall of 2008 I was lucky and I say lucky to get a chest infection, because it meant I had to stay home and as I hate watching all that mind numbing daytime TV, all I could do was go online and trawl the net.

Anyway, going through my emails and seeing the usual boring old scamy  offers, amongst them was an offer from a reputable marketer and I sat up and took note of the product being promoted. This guy called Alex Goad who I had heard about, but never bought from before had a video explaining how it wasn’t my fault I had not been successful, “It’s just you have never been shown the correct methods and strategies”. And I realized he was right and after watching more videos from him explaining what the product could do and most importantly there would be step-by-step training on everything relating to internet marketing I decided to buy into his program and the program was called Google Conquest, which consisted of video and audio training as well as written transcripts and also featured time saving automated methods for building your sites and optimizing them to rank well in the search engines.

Within about the first week I had learned more than I had for the last six months and the automated ease in which you could put up a site while still under your control was amazing, and the information Alex provided on Sales Copy really was an eye opener. My only problem now was really optimizing my site for the search engines or SEO. Other products Alex has created are Affiliate Payload, and Players with Money.

Brian Johnson, who is an SEO, WordPress and Niche Marketing master and has spent his time studying in particular Google, and rather than fighting them with black hat or grey hat tactics, he embraced their requirements by learning what Google, and for that matter what searchers wanted and giving it to them.
